I-Kandy Makeover — Damon’s Journal

Week 12

When I first started the makeover challenge, I was not sleeping more than 4 hours a night.  That changed in the first two weeks. That let me know how bad my eating habits really were and how it affected other areas.  With my hectic work schedule, it was a challenge to make myself not grab so quick fast food, but I realized how sluggish that food made me feel.  I also see that there is a delicious but healthy alternative to just about everything that I was eating. The great is that I truly feel that these lifestyle changes that I have developed during the challenge are permanent.  Thanks Candace!

Week 11

It is coming down to the wire and I have hit a plateau.  Candace and I have met to discuss some ways to get over the hump and finish up a bang.

Week 10

I feel like I am back on track. Due to my vacations, it had been a while since I did a full week of boot camp. It was challenging, but it felt good to be back.  It definitely makes a difference when you are committed to both your exercise and eating regimen.  As a result, I lost weight this week.

Weeks 7-9

I went on vacation for a 1 1/2 weeks, so I missed my boot camp sessions.  I did workout when I could, and I golfed a lot. I was not able to stay on my eating schedule the way I should due to my golf tournament. I am not happy with what I am seeing on the scale, so I need to get my head back in the game.  Candace and I spoke about getting me back on track and setting some mini goals to help keep me focused.

Week 6

This was not one of my better weeks.  It was very hectic and I did not get to work out and keep my journal like I need to.  The scale reflected the type of week that I had, but I am going to shake it off and get refocused. I was really happy to see all of the inches that I have lost in addition to the weight. It was a great motivator.

Weeks 4-5

I am really seeing the weight loss now, and the eating regimen is finally feeling like second nature. I went out to eat and used the tools that Candace recommended, which were great.  I am feeling healthier and stronger than I have in a long time.

Week 3

It is really starting to come together for me.  I am still learning how to plan ahead and manage my food when I know I am going out to dinner.  Candace gave me some great tips that will really help me.  My body is starting to get used to the eating schedule and the consistency is starting to spill over into other areas of my life. I am really feeling great!

Week 2

I am still adjusting to having a regular eating schedule. It is going to take a minute (or longer) to acclimate. My work day is so busy, but I am making the program work. I noticed that I am not starving when I get home anymore because of the regular eating schedule.  Candace assured me that it is only a matter of time before the schedule becomes second nature to me.  My sleep has been going well and makes sleeping in enjoyable. By the end of the week,  I was very tired from work, but I still worked out with Candace and had a good work out!

Week 1

I am ready to get to work. The pictures are a good wake up call for me. I had a good week and used all of the tools I’d learned. The trip that Candace took with my wife and I to the grocery store was very helpful.  We substituted many of the empty calories we were consuming with foods that I like and are good for me. I went on a golf retreat, but contacted Candace during to get some tips on how to handle the foods at the retreat. She provided me with some suggestions that kept me from going overboard, but still allowed me to enjoy myself. I have also slept the entire night for three nights straight. It has been a while since I have been able to do that.
